February 2011
Hello Chapter M Family and Friends,
So here I am,
sitting in my condo in Hilton Head, South Carolina,
thinking about just how unfair life is. Seventy degree
plus weather, sports car to drive, enough golfing to
kill a guy, all the fresh, and I mean right off the boat
ready to eat fresh seafood, and don’t get me going on
the pork! Thank God for Pig! It’s one of the main food
groups down here along with okra and grits. You just
can’t go anywhere and not find it and boy, is it yummy.
But what has this to do with Goldwings and riding
motorcycles you ask? Absolutely nothing. But I do
think it’s unfair that everyone down here who has a
motorcycle is out riding it and I don’t have my bike
here. It’s parked in its winter storage waiting for
spring to sprung.
Having said that,
we only have a few more weeks to wait too! This letter
is for the February Wisconsin District newsletter and if
it makes it there, that means that we should be starting
to pull our winter maintenance and be getting our bikes
ready for the beginning to middle of April when we
should be starting to ride again. Exciting times are a
com’n, they are.
But, because we
just aren’t there yet, and because things are a tad
slow, I’ve got some chapter activities to let you know
about. First, the chapter dinner night will be on
Thursday, February 9, at 6:00 p.m. at the Graystone Ale
House, which is located at
3711 Monroe Rd De Pere
(Cty GV).
The February
social will be on Sunday, February 26, at Mackinaw's.
We’ll be in the "Outpost" and we’ll start at 12:30 p.m.
and go until 2:30 p.m. You can order brunch or off the
menu. Mackinaws is located at
2925 Voyager Drive in Green
Bay.
In closing, I’d like to wish everyone in
the Chapter who’s celebrating a birthday or an
anniversary congratulations and best wishes. Be safe
this winter, get yourselves in shape and in the spring,
when it’s sprung, we’ll ride.
